ATC files regulatory application for Branch River Substation
Transmission facilities in Manitowoc County will improve local electric reliability
PEWAUKEE, Wis. – American Transmission Co. is requesting approval from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to build a new substation and connecting transmission lines in the Manitowoc County Town of Franklin. The facilities will support the reliable operation of the high-voltage transmission system that provides electric service to eastern Wisconsin.
If approved, construction would begin in August 2016 and the project would be placed into service in late 2018. The estimated cost of the project ranges from $41 million to $46 million, depending on routing and site selection.
