ROCKDALE-CONCORD-BARK RIVER-MILL ROAD

This project is being delayed for several years. Preliminary forecasts indicate that this line will be needed about 2018

Proposed line upgrades with some new line construction between Menomonee Falls and Jefferson County.

  • Phase 1: Construct a 345/138-kilovolt substation (called Mill Road Substation) at the intersection of two existing 345 kV and two existing 138-kV lines in Menomonee Falls.
  • Phase 2: Construct a 30-mile transmission line from the Rockdale Substation located near Christiana in Jefferson County to the Concord Substation near Watertown. The double-width right-of-way of an existing 138-kV transmission line along this corridor would accommodate the proposed 345-kV line. However, other routes also may be considered. Substation work would be needed to accommodate the new line.
  • Phase 3: Convert from 138-kilovolt to 345-kilovolt an existing 11-mile line between the Mill Road Substation in Menomonee Falls and Bark River Substation located near Merton. Construct a new 345-kilovolt line approximately 19 miles from Bark River to the Concord Substation. Substation modifications would be needed.
