WARRENS SUBSTATION

Project overview

With significant growth in the Tomah area such as the new resort and waterpark in Warrens as well as additional commercial development, a true need exists for expansion of the area's electric transmission system.

American Transmission Co. and Alliant Energy plan to built approximately 7 miles of 69-kilovolt power line to connect to a new Alliant Energy substation in Warrens, called the Warrens Substation.

Currently, there are two routes to choose from.   View map      We are currently researching all options and select the route which provides the least amount of impact to landowners, yet still provides the access needed to upgrade the transmission lines and connect to the new substation.
