Project overview
With significant growth and commercial development in the Tomah area, a true need exists for expansion of the area's electric transmission system.
American Transmission Co. and Alliant Energy plan to build approximately 7.5 miles of 69-kilovolt transmission line to connect to a new Alliant Energy substation in Warrens, called the Warrens Substation.
After much analysis, input from the public and other stakeholders, and consultation with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, a preferred route along the Interstate 94 corridor has been identified. This route is considerably less costly and will have far less residential impact than the alternative route, yet still provides the access needed to upgrade the transmission lines and connect to the new substation.
