SAUK CITY

Project overview

In order to improve reliability to the existing electrical system serving the residents of Sauk City, the Wisconsin Public Service Commission granted permission to the Sauk City Utilities to build a new electric substation on Phillips Street. To provide energy to the new substation, Sauk City Utilities along with Prairie du Sac Utilities and American Transmission Co. plan to build almost 3 miles of new 69-kilovolt power line from the Tower St. Substation in Prairie du Sac to the new Sauk City Phillips St. Substation.

This work includes replacing half of the existing wood poles along Lueders Road to make room for this transmission line.  This work will also include new line construction starting from north of Broadway Street to the Tower St. Substation along 17th Street, as well as on Phillips Street to accommodate the new Sauk City Phillips St. Substation.
