Project overview

American Transmission Co. completed work on the existing transmission line that runs between the North Appleton Substation in Appleton, Outagamie County, and the White Clay Substation in Shawano County.

The vertical distance between the wires and the ground was increased so they are able to carry more current at peak capacity; this is also known as an “uprate.” In addition to the work along the existing transmission line corridor, there was some construction activities each of the two substations.
