CRIVITZ - HIGH FALLS

Project overview

American Transmission Co. plans to rebuild the 15-mile, 69-kilovolt power line between the Crivitz substation and the High Falls substation in the Towns of Beaver and Stephenson in Marinette County. This work is needed to address constraints on the existing electrical transmission system that can compromise electric reliability.

The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin granted approval for this project in May 2007. We are conducting field surveying work at this time. We plan to begin construction in summer 2008.

The work involves replacing the existing steel lattice tower structures with steel single-pole structures and upgrading the wires that carry the electricity. We also plan to make upgrades at several substations.
