Overview
Industrial growth in the Fairwater area has created a need for a new substation to serve the area.
American Transmission Co. and Alliant Energy plan to build approximately 3.5 miles of new 69-kilovolt power line to connect to a new Alliant Energy substation, called the Fairwater Substation.
At this stage of the project, there are two projects to choose from. This enables us to research all options and select the route which provides the least amount of impact to landowners, yet still provides the access needed to maintain the transmission lines and connect to the new Fairwater Substation.
